Babymoon’s are bliss. Especially when they’re in Maui. Jake and I escaped together one last time, just the two of us, before baby Ireland arrives. We had gone back and forth on whether to go, because we had been traveling a lot for work and family trips. But I’m so happy we did, because it was truly one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve shared.
Maybe it was the Maui air. Or the sweet mocktails. Or the baby turtles we spotted. But mostly, I think it was the peace we felt. This trip marked the first time both Jake and I completely slowed down, and indulged in this pregnancy. Life is busy, and we don’t always take enough time to really BE in the moment. But this trip, we watched sunsets with our hands on my belly, feeling every kick. We kayaked (literally!) alongside families of turtles. And we blissfully dreamed of the day we’d bring our baby back.
I’m grateful for this moment, this life, this experience, and I don’t take any of it for granted. We’re more than seven months in, and I feel calmly unprepared for both the love and chaos that’s to come…
