Aspen is quite literally like walking into your very own snow globe. It’s one of the few winter trips we take to someplace snowy, and year after year it’s one of our favorites. This time felt especially different, since it was our first experience going with Evan (we skipped it last year, because Ev struggled with major altitude changes when he was just a babe). But to say he LOVED it would be a major understatement. It was the perfect place to take him as a year-and-a-half because he was just big enough to run in the snow, give knuckles to Frosty, and even hop on SKI’S for the first time! Which, by the way, made me realize I am a total stage mom already LOL. I had zero chill. I was jumping up and down as though my child was in the Super Bowl (but I mean, that’s obviously part of a mom’s job, right? #superfan). I snapped so many photos and videos that my phone ran out of storage. Who am I?! BTW, getting him into all the gear — like the helmet, boots, goggles, etc. — was the hardest part and we almost didn’t make it out of the lodge because of it. But once he was actually on the hill, he loved it (for about 10 minutes LOL). Then it was onto the next thing!

This was also the first non-work trip that Marianna and I took together since starting Summer Fridays. She was in Aspen at the same as us, along with some of my extended family, which made the trip more fun. We totally needed a few days of hitting the reset button, and I’m really grateful we ended 2018 with weekend away.

I am officially declaring Aspen to be the happiest place on earth (sorry Disneyland)! Here are some of my favorite snaps from the mountains, and of our first family photos from the SNOW!
