Springtime always pushes me to give my beauty routine a makeover. Less is more, right? Less fuss, less time, less masking your natural beauty.
The urge to rework my routine inspired me to do a week of beauty on the blog. We’ll talk skin, hair and makeup before the week’s over [with a couple of celeb experts].
First up: DIY hydrating face + hair masks. I hope you’re ready to smother yourself in yogurt. Research shows it treats dryness + irritation [especially after sun exposure], as well as blemishes and fine lines. Yogurt is also great for your mane — it promotes hair growth and is a natural conditioner.
Below are recipes for recreating yogurt masks. Don’t be afraid of making ingredient changes that work best for you — there are tons of versions!
Hydrating Face Mask…
Combine 4 tbs plain, GREEK yogurt + 1 tbs vitamin E oil in a bowl. Mix well.
Apply the mask to a makeup-free face, and leave on for 15 minutes (with cucumbers on your eyes)!
Rinse throughly, dry + and apply your favorite moisturizer.
Hydrating Hair Mask…
Combine 1c greek yogurt (use more/less depending on hair length) + 3 tbs coconut oil.
Generously apply the mask into the ends (+ scalp, if you wish), massaging it thoroughly. Wrap your hair in a shower cap and allow the mask to settle in for 15-30 minutes.
Rinse well. Follow with moisturizing shampoo + conditioner.
Happy #nomakeupmonday. PS. Check out my other DIY face + hair masks by clicking here and here.
